Antony J. Bowman is best known for his feature Paperback Hero which he adapted into a screenplay from his novel of the same name. (Penguin Books)
Starring Hugh Jackman and Claudia Karvan, the romantic comedy was considered an international breakthrough and screened “In Competition” in both the Hollywood and Milan Film Festivals.
A graduate of the London Film School, Antony began his career writing and directing several short films and acclaimed drama-documentaries – receiving the Silver Screen Award at the Chicago Film Festival and a Bronze Award at the New York Film Festival.
With a flair for character-driven films, his other feature credits as writer/director include Relatives (AWG Nomination / Best Screenplay) and Cappuccino.
Antony is currently the screenwriter and producer on the ToonzAnimation feature The Adventures of the Recycle Gang, the WW2 Eyeqube/India production of When Heaven Falls, the music-driven comedy, Bigger Than Jesus (in pre-production/ Birdland Films) and the thriller trilogy, Stealing Sam currently being produced in the US. The remaining stories, Hunting Sam & Killing Sam, are set to follow the action from Shanghai to Berlin.
Antony is also currently working on the upcoming UK thriller, One Way, which he has written and will direct.
